I spent time on the North Slope of Alaska in the early months of 2015, visiting crews we had in the field.
During my time, I had the pleasure of meeting the SALA on-site medics, who had been contracted by my company.
As a manager, it is my responsibility to ensure that our field sites are in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
I found the personnel of SALA to be very professional, their clinic to be very clean and to standard, their supplies to be in compliance with state regulations and overall, a very professional operation.
During my stay, I witnessed that the SALA medics were not only responsible for the care of personnel on site but they also participated in the operational aspects of the program.
One medic was always in the sleigh camp during the day, while another traveled the program, to ensure that a timely and logistical response would be ensured, in the unlikely event of an emergency. Also included in the scope of work was their participation in the safe arrival of flights from Prudhoe Bay, providing logistics for crew change flights.
The SALA medics were on call, 24 hours a day and would never turn away any worker who required their assistance.
At the end of my visit, I had encountered four SALA medics , due to a flawless shift change, it was always a pleasure to see them. Additionally, I was comfortable knowing that if any emergency occurred, they would be able to respond in a timely manner and ensure that any worker who was in distress, would receive the proper care, during a potential medical emergency.
I would recommend SALA for any prospective projects you have in mind – onshore, offshore or remote.

Arctic Ocean Retrieval 2016
I worked as a sole shipboard medical provider during a very complicated operation retrieving offshore anchors in The Beaufort and Bering seas in the arctic waters off the coast of Alaska. The project, which was quite extensive spanning seas from the gulf of Mexico, through the Panama canal, to the farthest reaches of the American Arctic (and back) went off flawlessly. The myriad logistical puzzles were quickly and efficiently solved by Jason McLaughlin and SALA Remote medical. I would recommend this group for any project of any size, and anywhere in the world. I’ve been in the remote medical business for over 20 years, and they are far and away the best in their field.

Shell Alaska Project 2016
I had the pleasure of working on a project with Sala Remote Medics in Alaska for 7 months during 2016. I worked with Jason McLaughlin on a daily basis for the entirety of the project. Not only was he extremely professional, but was a pleasure to work with. He, along with his team of remote medics which we utilized on our marine vessels, conducted themselves exceptionally with regards to the rigorous schedules and needs from the project and demands from the vessel crews. The experience and backgrounds of the Remote Medical crews made us comfortable operating in the remote locations in the Arctic for several months.
I would highly recommend Sala Remote Medics for any of your Medical needs onsite.
Invaluable Team Members
SALA Remote medics has been providing remote medics for our offshore marine research and monitoring programs since 2008 in the Arctic and Cook Inlet. The personnel provided by Sue Simonds has always been highly professional and instantly became an invaluable member of the team. In 9 years of offshore operations, our team is proud to have zero recordable injuries. This outstanding record is due in large part to the case management by the onboard medic, preventing injuries through personal interactions. We consider SALA family and highly recommend their services for your projects.
Jason and his crew was terrific to work with. They explained the processes and paperwork very well so it was easy for my staff to follow instructions with no complications. Thank you!
Courteous and professional
I worked for a company that used SALA Remote Medical. Their medics were courteous, professional, understanding, and knowledgeable. They took their jobs seriously. And never once did I feel they were just there for a paycheck.
North Slope Project 2014
I had the chance to work with SALA Remote Medics on a North Slope seismic project in January of 2014. Jason McLaughlin and Sean Brooks were our medics and both had exceptional knowledge of their duties. It wasnt until an individual experienced a life threatening illness that we got to see these two do what they do best. Our employees’ well being were never in question when we had these two guys working with our group. I actually have kept in touch with Jason over the years, and am happy to see his progression within the company. SALA got a great leader in Jason. Sitting down with him in 2014 and hearing his goals led me to believe that he was going to succeed in anything he did.
