Arctic Ocean Retrieval 2016
I worked as a sole shipboard medical provider during a very complicated operation retrieving offshore anchors in The Beaufort and Bering seas in the arctic waters off the coast of Alaska. The project, which was quite extensive spanning seas from the gulf of Mexico, through the Panama canal, to the farthest reaches of the American Arctic (and back) went off flawlessly. The myriad logistical puzzles were quickly and efficiently solved by Jason McLaughlin and SALA Remote medical. I would recommend this group for any project of any size, and anywhere in the world. I’ve been in the remote medical business for over 20 years, and they are far and away the best in their field.

SALA Remote Medics had been a valued customer of mine for a few years. I entitled this valued partner as this is how I truly see them. I worked with Jason McLaughlin on several designs and products for his employees and customers. Throughout this process, SALA and Jason demonstrated true professionalism and loyalty. They always did exactly what they said they were going to do. During this process and working with Jason I could tell that he was a true leader and obtained great respect from his employed as well as peers. Even though Jason and SALA was one of my customers, Jason always thought to ask how my business was and offered any suggestions or hand to help in any way he could. Having this type of a relationship becomes more than a customer, it becomes a very valued partner. I know under Jason’s strong leadership style and tremendous knowledge in the business, he will lead SALA to great heights in the future.
I spent time on the North Slope of Alaska in the early months of 2015, visiting crews we had in the field.
During my time, I had the pleasure of meeting the SALA on-site medics, who had been contracted by my company.
As a manager, it is my responsibility to ensure that our field sites are in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
I found the personnel of SALA to be very professional, their clinic to be very clean and to standard, their supplies to be in compliance with state regulations and overall, a very professional operation.
During my stay, I witnessed that the SALA medics were not only responsible for the care of personnel on site but they also participated in the operational aspects of the program.
One medic was always in the sleigh camp during the day, while another traveled the program, to ensure that a timely and logistical response would be ensured, in the unlikely event of an emergency. Also included in the scope of work was their participation in the safe arrival of flights from Prudhoe Bay, providing logistics for crew change flights.
The SALA medics were on call, 24 hours a day and would never turn away any worker who required their assistance.
At the end of my visit, I had encountered four SALA medics , due to a flawless shift change, it was always a pleasure to see them. Additionally, I was comfortable knowing that if any emergency occurred, they would be able to respond in a timely manner and ensure that any worker who was in distress, would receive the proper care, during a potential medical emergency.
I would recommend SALA for any prospective projects you have in mind – onshore, offshore or remote.

Safe travels, wherever you may roam or work!
Professional, persistent and dependable
I worked on a vessel in the Beaufort Sea in northern Alaska. Though we went to shore nightly, we were still pretty remote making medical issues a logistical quandary. However, Jason McLaughlin went above and beyond and personally made sure that my needs were taken care of, which was no easy task. I would highly recommend Jason and his team to anyone.
Truly The Best
From 2012-2015 I have been deployed in remote areas in the Alaskan wilderness, both on and off shore. From the moment I met the medic’s from SALA I had complete confidence that our crew’s were in good hands. They allowed us to focus on the job at hand and for the first time in my seismic career we did not feel the need to micro manage our medics. They brought a level of professionalism to the table that far exceeds any other remote medic company that I have worked with. I highly recommend SALA Remote Medics.
It was a great pleasure to work with all of them.
Top Notch Crew
I have had the pleasure of working with the SALA crew in various locations in Alaska. All of the crew are top notch! They carry expertise, professionalism and have extensive knowledge in their field. I would recommend SALA for any remote operations and look forward to any future endeavors we may meet on again.
North Slope Project 2014
I had the chance to work with SALA Remote Medics on a North Slope seismic project in January of 2014. Jason McLaughlin and Sean Brooks were our medics and both had exceptional knowledge of their duties. It wasnt until an individual experienced a life threatening illness that we got to see these two do what they do best. Our employees’ well being were never in question when we had these two guys working with our group. I actually have kept in touch with Jason over the years, and am happy to see his progression within the company. SALA got a great leader in Jason. Sitting down with him in 2014 and hearing his goals led me to believe that he was going to succeed in anything he did.
